Description
With less then 20 percent of the bars left un-redeemed, this bar is among the most elusive and valuable of the Casascius bars.
‘1000 BTC’ and ‘One Thousand Bitcoins’ is laser printed on the bar (in the same manner as on the 500 BTC bar), instead of stamped like on the 100 BTC versions.
In February 2014, Casascius sold a redeemed bar on eBay for 3,850 USD, with all proceeds going to the Electronic Frontier Foundation.
The lower image is actually of an unfunded bar, but it demonstrates detail as there are few available photos of funded 1,000 BTC bars.
